The beautiful hunting area lies in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, with many game species to choose from.
Hunting packages are tailored to suit the individual hunter's needs. Your host on this unforgettable experience will be Jacques Greeff, a registered professional hunter and outfitter.
Hunting
There is a choice of 27 different species.
Among them are East Cape Kudu, Cape Springbuck, Blesbuck, White Blesbuck, Bontebok, Impala, Red Mountain Reedbuck, Fallow Deer, Cape Bushbuck, Black Springbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Vaal Rhebuck, White Tailed Gnu, Brindled Gnu, Nyala, Duiker, Blue Duiker, Steinbuck, Grys Buck, Warthog, Bushpig, Baboon, Vervet Monkey and Rock Hyrax.
In the interest of humane hunting all hunters have to submit to a basic shooting skills test before being granted permission to enter the hunting area. Only ethical walk and stalk hunting is permitted and the minimum calibre to be hunted with is 7mm or .270. Please note that we also cater for handgun and black powder hunting. We also cater for wing shooting of doves, guinea fowl, geese, graywing and quail in season under the capable guidance of Dr. Drik Hoskin and his team. Hunting Area
The Eastern Cape is the second biggest province in South Africa and stretches from the Tsitsikamma Forest to Aliwal North.
The province boasts 31 different game species of which 26 are abundant in the hunting area.
The terrain varies from thick Bushveld to Savannah and from high mountains to arid Karoo. The Fauna and Flora as well as the bird life make it perfect for bird watching, hiking and photo safaris. The hunting area stretches over 30,000 hectares, from the Koonap River Valley at 1500ft above sea level, to the Winterberg at 7500ft above sea level. There is access to a private landing strip near Fort Beaufort. It’s a comfortable two and a half hour drive from the Port Elizabeth Airport and a one and a half hour's drive from East London Airport. |
Jacques Greeff is the proprietor of East Cape Plains Game Safaris. He is a registered professional hunter, outfitter and S.C.I. Master Measurer. He is also a member of the Professional Hunters Association of South Africa, Confederation of Hunters Associations of South Africa, East Cape Game Management Association, South African Hunters and Game Conservation Association, Africa Chapter of Safari Club International and a member of the South African Gun Owners Association.
